UP ACM: Compute. Compile. Compete.
weDesign Guidelines:
- Eligibility. All interested participant must: (a) be a High School Student residing in the Philippines; (b) be currently enrolled in any high schools within the Philippines; (c) be familiar with any of the following technologies: (X)HTML, CSS, Javascript.
- Team. Each team may consist of at most two (2) participants. A school may form at most two (2) teams.
- Participant. Each participant cannot be a member of another team.
- Registration. All interested schools may submit a Pre-registration form online or submit the attached Pre-Registration form via Fax. Online Pre-Registration form can be found on http://weDesign.upacm.org/
- Contest Proper PREPARATION. Prepare the necessary image files needed for the web design creation. Use of copyrighted material is discouraged, unless the contestant has proper authorization from the copyright holder. Please show proof on the day of the event.
- Contest Proper Mechanics.
- Teams are allowed to use any of the following software in the creation process:
- GEdit, Notepad any text editor
- GIMP
- Teams are limited to the following technologies:
- (X)HTML
- CSS
- Javascript
- JPEG, GIF, PNG, BMP
- The contest will run for three (3) hours only.
Judging. The web designs submitted are judged with the following criteria: (1) Ease of Navigation; (2) Creativity and User Appeal; (3) Usability; (4) Theme Adherence. Websites will be judged using Mozilla Firefox 3 on Ubuntu.
Substitution of Participants. The names of the participants and substitutes must be submitted three days prior to the event.
Winners. Winners are chosen by the contest’s judges and/or event’s sponsors. The names and schools of the winners will be announced after the judging period.

February 16, 2009: End of Registration Period
February 20, 2009: Event Proper:
8:00 am – 8:30 am : Registration
8:30 am – 11:30 am: Contest Proper
1:00 pm : Awarding
Theme. The theme for the event is: “Education in the 21st Century – What schools are doing with technology.“
