From ACM Local Activities:

We invite you to participate in and disseminate information about the ACM Student Research Competitions that will take place at several SIG conferences coming up during the next academic year.

Each ACM Student Research Competition is an opportunity for both undergraduate and graduate students to present their research to leading professionals in their field, to win prizes (at each SIG SRC there are three graduate and three undergraduate winners; each first prize is $500, each second prize $300, and each third prize $200).

ACM will also offer a travel grant of up to $500 for each submission selected for the SRC to get you to your conference.

The winners are then eligible to the once-yearly SRC Grand Finals, the winners of which are invited to attend the ACM Awards Banquet with their advisors. This awards banquet is the event where the A.M. Turing Award is given.

* PLEASE NOTE that you may only participate in one SRC in any one academic year, so for example, if you submit a research poster to the SIGGRAPH 2006’s SRC and your poster is selected to participate, you may not submit a poster to any of the other SRCs this academic year.
